Social Studies Institute on Africa records, 1962-1966.

The Social Studies Institute of Africa was sponsored by the St. Paul Public Schools and the Junior League of St. Paul. Operating from 1962-1966, the institute offered high school students college-level course work, first in African studies, and later in Southeast Asian studies. Institute students studied problems facing Africa and Asia, with the curriculum including lectures, research, writing, and independent study. Guest lecturers focused on geography, economics, history, politics, art and music. Radio station KUOM recorded and broadcast the lectures.
